We think living in the Lowcountry is a pretty sweet deal, and as followers of Jesus, we know the greatest thing we can do for anyone is to show them some LOVE! So, we put two great things together and are calling it Love Where You Live - a great time to LIVE ON LOCAL MISSION!

Programs for Exceptional People (PEP)

The purpose of PEP is to promote independence, social interaction, and employment opportunities for individuals who live with intellectual disabilities. They provide an inclusive environment where members read, learn, exercise, work, and engage with peers.

There are plenty of daily structured activities on the schedule that are specialized to help members grow and focus on their strengths including cooking classes, exercise, reading, music, career prep, science, sign language, crafts, and more.

FAMILY PROMISE OF BEAUFORT COUNTY

Family Promise of Beaufort County’s mission is to provide temporary shelter, family stability, and permanent housing solutions for homeless families with children by mobilizing resources from interfaith and secular communities. Every act that they take is in furtherance of the vision that every child will have a home.

Family Promise operates the Freedom House which provides a stable and supportive environment for families with children who are experiencing homelessness or are at immediate risk. Freedom House can house up to seven families at a time — accommodating up to 21 individuals — in a supervised communal living setting. Families may stay for up to 90 days in residence, during which time they receive essential support services and work toward long-term stability and independence. Once they transition into permanent housing, they remain in Family Promise’s 12-month follow-up program for continued support and success.

Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island

Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island has a simple mission – to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, RESPONSIBLE citizens. 

The Club has enjoyed great success as an organization, but there is more to be done. They need to prepare the Club for the new generation of learners who may be left behind without access to technology and innovation to spark their interest and feed their passions. As Hilton Head’s tourism economy grows, so does the demand for workers who need extended hours of after school and summer child care. The Club need to be able to serve more children and need to ensure they have access to academic programs and enrichment opportunities that they would otherwise never have.

Child Abuse Prevention Association (CAPA)

CAPA exists to break the destructive cycle of child abuse and neglect by equipping parents, children, and their caregivers with necessary skills, knowledge, and values.

A background check and orientation are required to directly work with children.

CAPA’S CLOSET THRIFT STORE

CAPA’s Closet is a retail thrift store where the community drops off clothing and furniture, and all the proceeds benefit the Open Arms Children’s Home and other CAPA programs.

RADIANCE PREGNANCY CARE CENTER

Radiance Pregnancy Care Center in Beaufort, South Carolina provides free pregnancy services, such as pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and information about adoption, and educates on abortion. They support and empower women facing unplanned pregnancies with compassionate care.  

Cornerstone Church has committed to donating diapers and car seats that are needed to best care for Radiance’s families, so the biggest way to partner and support Radiance is through your giving at Cornerstone. By giving to Cornerstone Church through the OneFund initiative, you are giving to Radiance Pregnancy Care Center.
